PCM SHELTER: Family Shelter Full-Time Supervisor Days

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: is able to respond lovingly in all situations, placing our guest’s needs above their own; is kind and compassionate, yet able to be assertive and firm; is flexible schedule-wise.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Being a Supervisor in the Family Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 24-hour, 150 bed Family Shelter and women’s transitional housing facility intent on feeding and sheltering the homeless and impoverished.

Specific duties include*:

-Procedural Tasks: Supervision of guests, assist guests in becoming more self-sufficient and in obtaining community resources and benefits, advocacy for guests with outside agencies.

-Office Duties: including answering the phone or distributing mail. Also includes documentation of casework with guests.

-Spiritual Responsibilities: such as counseling guests who are in crisis or offering prayer

HOURS: Full-Time Day Position 3-4 days/week.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred in human services or related field.

PCM SHELTER: Family Shelter On-Call Supervisor Days or Nights

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: is able to respond lovingly in all situations, placing our guest’s needs above their own; is kind and compassionate, yet able to be assertive and firm; is flexible schedule-wise and available for a variety of shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Being an On-Call Supervisor in the Family Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 24-hour, 150 bed Family Shelter and women’s transitional housing facility intent on feeding and sheltering the homeless and impoverished.

HOURS: [**This position is for On-Call Supervisor**] Depending on shift availability, hours per week could range between 5 and 30. We are a 24-hour shelter, so there are shifts available at all times of the day.

On-Call Supervisors are utilized when one of the Full-Time Supervisors are off, usually for vacation or sick time. For vacations, we try to make a schedule at least one week in advance. We contact On-Call Employees about their availability and schedule accordingly. When a Full-Time Supervisor is sick, On-Call Supervisors are contacted by phone.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred in human services or related field.

PCM SHELTER: MEN’S SHELTER ON-CALL SUPERVISOR (Overnight Shifts)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: is able to respond lovingly in all situations, placing our guest’s needs above their own; is kind and compassionate, yet able to be assertive and firm; is flexible schedule-wise and available for a variety of shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Being an On-Call Supervisor in the Men’s Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 101-bed emergency shelter.

Specific duties include*:
– Procedural Tasks: evening check-in and morning wake-ups
– Office Duties: including answering the phone or distributing mail
– Spiritual Responsibilities: such as counseling guests who are in crisis or offering prayer
