Recycling Warehouse: On-Call Warehouse Material Mover and/or On-Call Delivery Route Driver

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Is responsible to assist Director in the day-to-day operations of the Recycling Warehouse which includes baling operations, sorting and shipping operations, bin route pick up, loading and unloading of truck and general warehouse custodial duties. Certification to drive a forklift is preferred. Training will be provided. Candidate must be able to drive a truck. CDL is preferred but not required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The On-Call Warehouse Material Mover and/or On-Call Delivery Route Driver comes with a variety of responsibilities.

Specific duties include*:
– Operating vehicles and baler equipment safely and efficiently
– Ensuring the warehouse is a clean, tidy and safe work environment
– The collection of donations at all bin sites. Assist in loading and unloading trucks when needed. Sorting donations.

Candidate must be able to work well with others and interact with the public providing excellent customer service. Candidate must have a clean driving record and be able to follow instructions. Candidate must be able to do physical activities as needed such as bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with others, both verbal and written.

HOURS: [**This position is for On-call Days**] Hours vary depending on shift availability.

On-Call Employees are utilized when one of the Full-Time Employees are off, usually for vacation or sick time. We contact On-Call Employees about their availability and schedule accordingly. When a Full-Time Employee is sick, On-Call Supervisors are contacted by phone.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required.

PCM SHELTER: MEN’S SHELTER ON-CALL SUPERVISOR (Overnight Shifts)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: is able to respond lovingly in all situations, placing our guest’s needs above their own; is kind and compassionate, yet able to be assertive and firm; is flexible schedule-wise and available for a variety of shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Being an On-Call Supervisor in the Men’s Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 101-bed emergency shelter.

Specific duties include*:
– Procedural Tasks: evening check-in and morning wake-ups
– Office Duties: including answering the phone or distributing mail
– Spiritual Responsibilities: such as counseling guests who are in crisis or offering prayer
*This list is far from comprehensive, as each day in the Men’s Shelter is unique. Ultimately, we are trying to communicate the love of Christ to our guests in all of our actions, even the mundane ones.

HOURS: [**This position is for On-call Overnights**] Depending on shift availability, hours per week could range between 5 and 30. We are a 24 hour shelter, so there are shifts available at all times of the day.

On-Call Supervisors are utilized when one of the Full-Time Supervisors are off, usually for vacation or sick time. For vacations, we try to make a schedule at least one week in advance. We contact On-Call Supervisors about their availability and schedule accordingly. When a Full-Time Supervisor is sick, On-Call Supervisors are contacted by phone.
