The Homeless Prevention Center (HPC) is dedicated to making much-needed items available at no charge to those who need it most. If you find yourself not being able to make ends meet or are working to make a fresh start, we want to help provide you with needed items that will offset your costs, so your income can go further.
We can only provide what has been donated to us, but we are blessed to be in a generous community. On most shopping days, we are able to provide: food, clothing, shoes, personal care items, furniture and household goods. As supplies allow, we also provide diapers, formula, children’s car seats, strollers, etc.
HPC “Shopping” Hours:
Monday & Friday
9:00am-11:30am // 1:30pm-4:00pm
4:00pm-6:00pm (for those employed and college students)
If possible, it is best to show up early during the designated shopping times. At the beginning of each shopping period, each shopper pulls a random number that will determine the shopping order.
HPC ‘Shopping’ Qualifications:
To be eligible to ‘shop’ at the HPC, individuals must:
- Be at 200% of the federal poverty level or below
- Have or be willing to get a Service Point card
We ask that you bring proof of income with you to your 1st appointment (pay stub, welfare check, food stamp, etc.). For those who work and need to shop on Wednesday evenings, you must bring proof of your current pay stub. For Students, we ask that you bring a copy of your class schedule.
Food baskets are available through the HPC once every other month per family. We also distribute holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. To receive a food basket, you must sign up at the HPC.
