Driver for Bin Route (Help Center)
Must be comfortable driving a 26 foot box truck and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Also must be able to bend over, lift and throw at least 50 pounds on a repetitive basis. This position does work in all types of weather. Days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and are not negotiable. Family Shelter On-Call Supervisor Days or Nights
The IDEAL CANDIDATE: is able to respond lovingly in all situations, placing our guest’s needs above their own; is kind and compassionate, yet able to be assertive and firm; is flexible schedule-wise and available for a variety of shifts.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Being an On-Call Supervisor in the Family Shelter comes with a wide variety of responsibilities. In general, it is overseeing the day-to-day operation of a 24-hour, 150 bed Family Shelter and women’s transitional facility intent on feeding and sheltering the homeless and impoverished.
Specific duties include: procedural tasks such as advocacy with outside agencies, assisting guests in becoming more self-sufficient and in obtaining community resources and benefits; office duties such as answering the phone or distributing mail as well as documentation of casework with guests; and spiritual responsibilities such as counseling guests who are in crisis or praying with guests and spiritual encouragement.
HOURS: This position is for an On-Call Supervisor. There are shifts available at all times of the day/night.
On-Call Supervisors are utilized when one of the Full-Time Supervisors are unavailable to work.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred in human services or related field.
