On Tuesday, February 25th, the 3rd annual SmileLNK will be held at People’s City Mission.

SmileLNK began as the brainchild of Matt Elwood of Elwood Photography. Matt came to us and said, “Guys, I have this idea….” He wanted our guests to be able to have a nice family or individual picture, something they may not otherwise be able to afford.

We were on board quickly; Matt’s enthusiasm is quite contagious.

For the past two years, Matt has rounded up his circle of stellar photographer, stylist, and makeup artist friends. They set up shop at PCM and offered a day of fun, pampering, and heirloom photography for Lincoln’s homeless and impoverished.

Our guests felt extra loved for an evening, and it made our hearts swell.

“Thank you, this was so nice. I haven’t laughed this much in months,” one PCM guest commented after having her hair and makeup done and pictures taken.

We are looking forward to this special event once more. Would you like to volunteer? We are still looking for makeup artists. If you would like to volunteer, contact Beneen at ballen@pcmlincoln.org.

Thank you!
