Thanksgiving is for everyone
Thanksgiving is for everyone. This includes the man who is broken in spirit and has burned all of his bridges with family and friends. It also includes the mom and her children who are just looking for a safe place to land and a break from hardship. Every individual served at our shelter and at our Help Center are precious in God’s sight and deserving of kindness and compassion…because Thanksgiving is for everyone.
During this time of year, we do everything we can to make sure that those we serve at our Help Center have the best Thanksgiving meal possible. At the HC we will distribute a “Turkey and Trimmings” box to hundreds of impoverished families. We can do this thanks to donations from folks just like you. These families are able to share a special meal at home because of your generosity.
At our Shelter, the annual Thanksgiving Day meal is a much anticipated event for all of our guests and anyone in Lincoln who is in need of a meal and fellowship that day. This meal is also provided through donations from the community, and served to our guests by amazing volunteers.
Would you consider giving to these needs? We are so grateful for your gifts this season, whether food, time or finances. You are making a difference! I hope and pray that you have a special Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.
Blessings,
Pastor Tom
Please join us for the 13th annual Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival, our largest community event and fundraiser. There will be elaborate, designer-decorated Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses and churches that will be auctioned off with all proceeds benefiting the homeless.
We also have a Christmas Market where you can purchase small decorated trees, wreaths, candles and more. Family-friendly activities include writing Letters to Santa, a photo booth, live local entertainment and scavenger hunt. This is a FREE event, and our way of saying THANK YOU to Lincoln for all of your love and support throughout the year. More information can be found on our Facebook page: @starrynightslincoln. We hope to see you there!
